Building & Managing Your Credit – A quarterly after hours seminar explaining how to establish a credit history, how to manage your existing credit, how to clear up a blemished credit history, and what lenders look for when determining the amount of credit you qualify for. 6:00-7:30pm 4 Components of a Loan – Learn all about how your income is reviewed when considering a loan; how to avoid presenting a bad credit application; why the appraisal is underwritten and all about title and how it can prevent you from obtaining a loan. (Monthly) Should I Start My Business Now? Self-Assessment and Inspiration for Entrepreneurs – participants will explore if business start up is right for them. Workshop includes testimonies by local business owners whose enterprise started as a hobby; personal assessments of risk tolerance, and money management principles that work for home based businesses. (Quarterly) Taking it to The Bank: A Financing Seminar for New Business Owners – Provides entrepreneurs with information about securing financing from traditional bank sources, as well as alternative sources such as character-based lending programs offered by nonprofit organizations. (Monthly) Mortgage Refinancing: When New Dollars Make Sense – Helps participants decide if refinancing is an appropriate option for them given potential goals such as starting a new business, lowering payments or building an investment portfolio. It also provides insights into how to shop competitively for the product you need. (Monthly) Debt Free: Budget and Credit Tune Up – Helps participants track spending, create budgets and stick to them, and understand the importance and components of a credit score.
